I didn’t like this when I first heard it a month ago. But four listens and I’m persuaded. It’s a distinctive sound powered by wonderfully defiant bass line that grinds and soars with a strange kind of industrial elegance.
The song in rehearsals has the voices forward in the mix and a meatier close harmony in the middle eight, meaning the production has a little more depth. JOWST is one of only a handful of Eurovision acts where the presence of miming artists on stage isn’t a distraction too. I’d really like to see this in the final.
