Oh. Dear. God.

On my New Year’s visit to Bury St Edmunds to see the parents and see in 2016, I discovered something surprising in the town’s branch of HMV.

The track-listing for Now That’s What I Call Classical Music.

I can’t remember the last time I browsed for a CD or even searched for one to purchase via Amazon. Perhaps it says more about me that a lot of my classical music consumption is, when I’m not in the concert hall, done via Spotify.

But, I had no idea that there was such a thing as ‘Now That’s What I Call Classical Music’. And I hope to God it dies a death. Such a compilation doesn’t represent my love of classical music, nor is it something I’d give to any uninitiated friend by way of an introduction.
