No classical music blog written by a member of BBC staff can possibly pass up the opportunity to blog about the latest schedule changes for the network. So I won’t.

In a bold move, Radio 3′s autumn weekend schedule is unveiled against a fairly harsh backdrop: budget cuts. And whilst it’s disappointing to see World Routes drop off the schedule as a programme in its own right, there is a subtle change worth flagging up. There is now a live concert nightly. Including weekends.

Yes, that’s right. A live concert. Every. Single. Night. A bit like the BBC Proms. But not. Live concerts from across the UK. All. Year. Round.

Not a bad move really. I don’t think so, anyway. *

* I haven’t been asked to blog this, by the way. This is my own personal view.
